Professionals Bios

Brian Morris
Head Professional

Head Professional Brian Morris is a born and bred Devonshire Parish local. He was born minutes up the street from where he is now the full time Head Golf Professional at the club where he started his golf career. Brian graduated from the now closed, Golf Academy of the South Orlando Campus in Spring 2003.

 

Prior to that he was the Assistant at Belmont Golf Course. Upon completion of his degree Brian returned to Belmont Hills and fulfilled his role as Head Golf Professional for 10 years until 2012. Brian was introduced in to the golf industry by local Professional and ex Tour player Kim Swan and flourished in his new career working under Alex Madeiros at Belmont Manor Golf Course. His education was provided by the previous owner of Belmont Hills Kevin Petty who Brian says ” Without Kevin supporting me none of this would have ever happened. I am so thankful for him and what he saw in me”. During his career Brian has been the National Junior Golf Coach and has taken many of the now grown up Juniors overseas to compete in tournaments. Brian was the President of the Bermuda Professional Golfers Association for 4 terms, a total of 8 years and now serves as its Tournament Director. He is an Honorary Member of the BPGA and was granted that award in 2021. Since his commencement of employment Brian has continued to put Ocean View on the local map. He has created the Ocean View Golden Lions Golf Team, successfully runs the Johnnie Walker Classic, the most successful Tournament on Bermuda’s Golf Tournament schedule and continues to guide the younger local Professionals in regards to their Golf careers. Brian is very well known and respected in the golf community and is supported by his Assistants OJ Pitcher and Delyone Borden. Brian has 1 PGA Tour start in his career, an entry to the Butterfield Bermuda Championship in 2021 which he states is the highlight of his golf career. After dealing with many adversities in his life Brian continues to remain a positive influence and example to all of the Islands golfers. He is Ocean View born and bred and gives his all to the Club to make sure every golfer that passes through their doors has the ultimate golf experience.

Oliver Pitcher
Assistant Golf Professional

Golf Professional OJ Pitcher. Born on May 27, 1983 has lived in the great land of St. David’s, Bermuda his entire life. He is currently the Assistant Golf Professional at Ocean View Golf Course under the leadership of Head Professional Brian Morris Sr. Golf started at the tender age of 5 when his father would take him on the course when playing with his friends.

 

Head Professional at the time of St. George’s G.C. Mr. Kim Swan JP MP along with his assistant Janice Richardson took an interest in his ability and both played a major role in his development by arranging an assessment with the Bermuda Junior Golf Association. At his first attempt in 1981 at 8 years of age he was accepted into the association in which he remained a member until the age of 17. In 1999 at the age of 16 he was crowned the Overall Men’s Champion of the Atlantic International Golf Tournament that had participants from other parts of the world competing here on local soil. He took a long break from the game as another passion of his (cricket) became his main focus. In 2010 once involved in golf again a close friend recommended the Golf Academy of America. He took his advice and in 2012 graduated from the academy. On his return he secured a part-time job at Port Royal G.C. for two years before locating at Ocean View G.C. He worked at Ocean View part-time for two and a half years before being hired full-time as the Assistant Golf Professional.

Delyone Borden
Registered Assistant Professional

A native from the Eastern End of the Island, known as St Davids is where Delyone was born and bred. He is a very proud Islander and has no problem making the journey to and from work daily from the far eastern side to the center of the Island. Delyone was employed by Head Professional Brian Morris in 2016 and has continued to grow in the business. An avid cricketer, Delyone has not only represented his club St Davids, but also represented St Georges in the Islands Annual Cup Match Classic and participated in the 2007 Cricket World Cup representing Bermuda in Trinidad playing against the world’s top Cricketers. His love for golf from a young age influenced Delyone to follow his dreams and he grasped the opportunity to work at Ocean View with both hands. He is a member of the Bermuda Professional Golfers Association where he competes in all of the local Professional Tournaments and continues to climb up the Leaderboard on its Order of Merit. Delyone spends a lot of time on the range, not just perfecting his own skills but also teaching many of the Bermuda Locals and introducing kids to the game of golf. His passion for golf made his career choice an easy one. You will never see him without a club or shadow swinging as he talks to many of the Ocean View Members around the Course, giving tips on the game and golf swing. He is very knowledgeable and continues to learn all aspects of the Golf Industry and the Game of Golf. Delyone will tell everyone he comes in to contact with that ” You only get out what you put in” and he is the perfect example of someone who “puts in”.

Conneiko Trott
Golf Course Foreman

Conneiko is 39 years old and has been employed at Ocean View for 15 years now. Starting on the Maintenance crew and working his way right up to the deserved Foreman’s position. During his time at OV Conneko wisely chose to venture overseas to Canada to study Turf Grass Management at Seneca College as well as completing an online Pest Management course at Penn State. During his rise from maintenance employee to Foreman Connekos biggest lesson learned is that hard work and persistence really does pay off and he has acquired many skills along the way. “Ocean View is a small course, and we are like a family” he says. He is an avid football lover, supporter of Manchester United and Barcelona. Conneko has a passion for sports, dogs and spending quality time with family and friends. He has a very calm demeanor, is easy going and genuinely enjoys life. His two kids and the chores of raising them brings him pride and he feels this is his greatest achievement to date. He dedicates his life to giving them the best possible foundation and the tools to become good successful human beings.

 

A hard worker that is always ready to learn and willing to please customers and fellow staff members he is a book reader whose favorite book to date is Hustle Harder Hustle Smarter by Curtis Jackson. Conneiko says that “he looks forward to being an integral part of Ocean View’s success and providing a great product that golfers from all walks of life can enjoy“.

Jayson Jackson
Golf Course Superintendent

“It’s an honour to be a part of a club with such great history and heritage.”

Jayson Jackson is the Superintendent for Bermuda Government Golf Courses and oversees 27 holes at both Port Royal and Ocean View golf courses. Jackson recently served as consultant superintendent for Port Royal during the PGA Tour Bermuda Championship where his efforts were highly praised by PGA Tour officials. Jackson holds an associate degree in turf management from the University of Guelph and has served as assistant golf course superintendent at some outstanding facilities such as Card Sound in Florida, the famous (Royal) Hong Kong Golf Club, Port Royal Golf Club and Mid Ocean Club. Additional has worked DP World Tour, Asian Tour (Men and Ladies events).

Patricia Tuzo

Patricia began working at Ocean View Golf Course in 1977 as a bar tender and began golfing in 1989. Along the way she won a few tournaments and achieved a 19 handicap. In 1990 she stopped playing golf and the following year gave birth to her only child Ajunte Tuzo.
She returned to work in 1992 and was transferred to the Pro Shop at the old location. On March 28th, 1994 the new clubhouse moved to it’s new location on Barkers Hill Road where is still resides today. Patricia is still working in the Pro Shop and after 40 years of employments still loves her job.

Shayna Dillas
Bar Manager

Shayna Dillas born on May 18th 1993 in St George’s Parish, Bermuda. She is currently the Bar Manager of The View Golf Lounge Bar here at Ocean View Golf Course. Shayna is a Certified Tour Ambassador under Bermuda Hospitality and also a Certified Bar Mixologist. She has worked in hospitality and multiple bars since the age of 19 years old. Shayna has been employed here at Ocean View since 2016, having worked under two different management teams. She has been a dedicated, committed worker and was highly recognized by The Board Of Trustees in 2021 and was asked to represent them and manage their concessions. Since 2021, already having been a full time employee from previous tenants, Shayna has become a real part of the Ocean View Family.
